I bought a Lens Baby about a year ago and have never really used it. It's a really cool little lens. They cost about 75 bucks and they have little bellows so you can control depth of field and they focus pretty tight so you can do macro type photographs with them. They aren't really ideal for photoshoots because you really have to spend some time finding the sweet spot (focusing the lens manually). I sat down today and played with it and made this very emo little image. They are really cool little contraptions.

There was a time when I was having a very "Mama don't let your babies grow up to be photographers" kind of an attitude but recently I have found a whole new love for my chosen profession. There is endless opportunity for photographers, one day you could be shooting fashion, the next a wedding, the next architecture. The variety is really wonderful. Today I photographed a school, it was just so much fun.

Drove home from Austin today and found all kinds of wonderful little Texas Highway vignettes, I almost stepped on a green garden snake when I was taking the picture of the car. I have nearly stepped on three snakes in my life, a rattler, a water moccasin and now the green garden snake. That's average for a Texan isn't it?

I went to my friend Peter's ranch today. I've been listening to Peter wax spiritual about his Ranch for awhile now and I have to admit being in that environment does make you feel completely whole....whatever that means ;-)

This one made me feel like Peter Pan. The other one made me feel like I was plummeting to my death, in a good way.
